A letter from our founder

Johnstown was recently ranked among the nation's most "post-Christian" cities. It's a hard number to sit with, and a fair question to ask: how long before it's our city too?
As a member of the Day of Prayer and Child Evangelism Fellowship committees, I've seen what happens when even a few faithful people from different congregations unite around one cause. Paul Critchfield and I began talking about what it would look like to expand that further — to stop talking about the darkness and actually do something about it.
The Light Team was formed as that "something." It's a call to the faithful across every denomination in this community to come out from behind four walls and rally together, in plain sight, in Christ's name.
The only membership requirement is a simple pledge. Imagine what a thousand people, pledged and serving, could do for this community's light.

What we believe
Every member congregation and volunteer shares this common ground.
The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
One God, eternally existent in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is the creator of all things in heaven and on earth, through Him and for Him.
His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and coming return.
Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation.
Believers in Christ share one spiritual unity, across every congregation.
His present ministry indwells the Christian, enabling a godly life.
Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected — one to life, one to judgment.

The Light Team is a 501(c)(3) — contributions may be tax-deductible. We don't yet take payments online, so for now, giving runs through us directly.
